In response to John Pullin's boiler condensate issue, our boiler broke down last winter so we had it replaced with a new one. We have a 3m outdoor run for our condensate pipe and the heating contractor lagged it with standard pipe lagging, we had no issues even though the external temperature dropped to -6°C at this year.
Given the timing we also missed the start of the scrappage scheme.
However, we would have been ineligible as the boiler was not working and we under 60, only those over 60 can get the money for a broken boiler.
